Top Toddler Apps

Standard

My toddler’s favorite iPad app is the Kandoobi app.   At 21 months he can play all of the games and loves all of the animals there are to choose from.   The hardest game on the app for him is the letters game – it requires a little more fine motor skills than he has right now but he is able to match-up the letters often enough that he doesn’t get too frustrated.  I have downloaded tons of toddler apps and am usually disappointed.  But this one will not disappoint.

Another great toddler app for the iPad is the PBS Kids app.  My toddler loves to watch Curious George.  He will watch the same episode over and over again.  We have a little trouble with the app skipping to another episode mid-stream but fortunately at his age, he doesn’t seem to mind.  I think it bothers his father (who also likes to watch Curious George) more than him.

Speaking of Curious George, if you are going to be in Jackson, Mississippi anytime from March 1 through the end of the Summer, I suggest that you visit the “Curious George Saves the Day” exhibit at the Mississippi Museum of Art.  This exhibit features original drawings of Curious George and tells the story of how his creators (H. A. and Margret Rey) fled Paris hours before the Nazis marched into the city in June 1940.  The Reys fled on bicycles carrying drawings for their children’s stories including one about a mischievous monkey.  The Grand Opening Family Day is March 3.
